His work spanned hardware, software, and services - from the smallest wearable oxygen concentrator, to SaaS for remote patient monitoring, to a home diagnostic test guided via app - he always managed to zero in on some elegant design solution that eluded the rest of us. 3. Openness to experiment and expand beyond his job description. This is something I've always admired about James. It was inspiring to watch as he rolled up his sleeves and dove headfirst into something new - whether it was 3D printing, coding, or video production. Nothing is outside his willingness to learn. This bias towards adaptability served him well as he took on management responsibilities later in his career. Since our time at Philips, I've watched James step into director-level roles.
